Welcome back to school this week!  I don’t know about you, but I’m so happy to see the snow!  Since the weather will be cold this week, please remind your children to wear their coats, hats and gloves and dress for the weather, since they will be going outside for recesses.   We have started our middle of the year reading and math testing for students, so please make sure your child is at school each day (unless they are sick, then please keep them home until they feel better).  We’ll be sharing the results of the reading and math testing, the Term 2 standards report, and your child’s academic progress during our parent conferences the first week in February.   Please be aware that there will be no school Friday, January 12 – Tuesday January 16.  Friday is a no school day, Monday is MLK day, and Tuesday will be a Teacher Professional development day.  Students will return back to school on Wednesday, January 17.  Our STEM Fair will take place on January 24.  If your child would like to participate, but hasn’t turned in an application yet, please do so asap, since this is the last week to turn them in.  We can’t wait to see their great projects!  Have a great week and here’s what’s happening at Edgemont this week.
