PTA Fundraiser 2024 – World’s Finest Chocolate
Dear Parents,
It’s September and that means it’s officially fall. Fall is for football, changing leaves, cooler
temperatures, and our school fundraiser. Over the past several years we have done the ‘fund’
run. This year we are changing things up and we need your help!
In February of this year, I began my cancer journey. I have learned a lot of things through this
ongoing process, but toward the top of my list, is the importance of community. Showing up to
help and support. The texts, calls, notes, treats, meals and visits were all pieces in my giant
puzzle. There is no doubt in my mind that my experiences through chemotherapy and radiation
would have been drastically different if not for the support and friendship of others. At the end
of July, as I was sitting in a waiting room, a thought came to me. In its most simple form, it was
that I needed to help others see that every small gesture matters. The small acts cumulatively
create something spectacular.
With this in mind, as I unexpectedly agreed to serve with one of my favorite friends as PTA
president, I knew we needed to show our kids how their individual efforts matter. This year the
kids will be selling candy bars. The students will attend an assembly on Wednesday that will
explain what they need to do, and get them excited about this fundraiser. There will be
incentives, prizes, and so much more. Other schools in our district and area have had great
success with this type of fundraiser. We are hoping the kids will tell their grandparents,
extended family, friends, and neighbors. We want this to be a community effort. I want these
kids to see that their individual sales help make the whole even better! I want them to be blown
away by the support they receive.
The money raised through chocolate sales will go directly to the classrooms. It pays for field
trips, specialty supplies, activities, parties, and other things. While the PTA runs the fundraiser,
all the money goes to make the student experience better. The fundraiser will start September
4th and all funds are due September 20th.
Each student will be sent home with an order form, you will fill out the form and turn it into the office and receive your first box of
chocolate. I can’t wait to see what hour incredible kids can do! Thank you for your support and help to
make this a fun, successful event.
