Making Math Realistic and Fun: A 6th Grade Activity

Today, our sixth graders had a superb opportunity. They had a math activity in which they had their own food trucks. Customers were able to come by and order food items. They created menus, took orders, calculated totals with taxes and tips. They interacted with the customers as well. They even artistically created their food trucks. This activity encompassed learning from so many different areas and on so many different levels. These students are fortunate to have caring teachers that make learning realistic and fun. That is why students SOAR at Edgemont!
