White Ribbon Week at Edgemont
This year’s White Ribbon Week (Feb 22-26) is in remembrance of Collin Kartchner with Save the Kids who passed away unexpectedly last fall. He traveled the country speaking to parents and kids about building strong family relationships and keeping kids safe from online dangers.
If you haven’t heard Collin speak, we invite you to watch his TED talk available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMb0wqTqE_4
Edgemont will be observing White Ribbon Week this week.
Collin taught that the best way to keep kids safe online was to have a good relationship with them–that, and to get rid of all devices completely! We won’t ask that of you, but we are inviting you this next week to intentionally engage with your children with the goal of strengthening your relationships.
On Friday there will be an assembly presented by NetSmartz–just for kids. NetSmartz also has monthly tips for parents that we’ll summarize in our emails, just in case you’ve missed them.
So, make sure you watch for our daily challenges and tips coming next week. Will you do it? We hope so!
