Dear Edgemont Families,

Welcome back to school!  I hope everyone had a wonderful week off and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  It looks like it will be colder this week with snow even predicted.  Please keep an eye on the weather and send a coat with your child on the cold days since they will be going outside for recess.  This week we continue our end of year RISE testing.  Grades 4th-6th will be completing the Language Arts portion of the test this week.  You can help by making sure they get a good night’s sleep and have a good breakfast before school.  

This week the district is hosting the Easter Basket Auction. Proceeds from the auction go towards funding after school programs at our schools.  Everyone is welcome to come and bid on the baskets.  It will take place Thursday, April 14, from 6-8 pm at the Riverside Country Club.  

We are excited that this year we will be able to have our Edgemont Art Showcase again!  Mark your calendars for Monday, April 25 from 6-7:30 pm.  Come and see your child’s artwork from this school year, hear your children sing and perform, see professional artists sharing their talents, and hear a storyteller.  The events will be happening at our school in the gym, hallways, room 121 and library.  We look forward to hosting this event for our community and seeing you there!

Estimadas familias de Edgemont,

¡Bienvenidos a la escuela! Espero que todos hayan tenido una maravillosa semana de descanso y hayan disfrutado del buen tiempo. Parece que esta semana será más fría y hasta se pronostica nieve. Por favor, estén atentos al clima y envíen un abrigo con sus hijos en los días fríos ya que saldrán afuera para el recreo. Esta semana continuamos con las pruebas RISE de fin de año. Los grados 4º a 6º completarán la parte de Artes del Lenguaje de la prueba esta semana. Usted puede ayudar asegurándose de que tengan una buena noche de sueño y que tengan un buen desayuno antes de la escuela.

Esta semana el distrito es el anfitrión de la subasta de la canasta de Pascua. Las ganancias de la subasta se destinan a financiar los programas extracurriculares en nuestras escuelas. Todos son bienvenidos a venir y pujar por las cestas. Tendrá lugar el jueves, 14 de abril, de 6-8 pm en el Riverside Country Club.

Estamos muy contentos de que este año podamos tener de nuevo nuestra Muestra de Arte de Edgemont. Marquen sus calendarios para el lunes, 25 de abril de 6-7:30 pm. Venga a ver las obras de arte de sus hijos de este año escolar, escuche a sus hijos cantar y actuar, vea a artistas profesionales compartiendo sus talentos y escuche a un cuentacuentos. Los eventos tendrán lugar en nuestra escuela en el gimnasio, los pasillos, el salón 121 y la biblioteca. ¡Esperamos ser los anfitriones de este evento para nuestra comunidad y verlos allí!
