Dear Edgemont Families,

Welcome to March! This is a busy time at school of learning and preparation for the end of year testing.  Our students are working very hard to learn what they need to prepare not only for testing, but also be ready for the following school year.  Please make sure your child is at school and on time each day (unless they are sick) so they don’t miss any important class instruction.

We also have lots of fun things happening this month.  The Reading Challenge is going on right now and our students are reading lots of minutes at home.  Help them remember to turn in their bookmark each Friday to add to our overall school minutes to earn rewards.  We also have Teacher Appreciation happening this week! Our teachers are amazing and I’m so grateful for their dedication to our Edgemont children.  Check our website and calendar to keep updated with other activities that will be happening this month at Edgemont.

With all of the information surrounding the coronavirus on tv, social media, and online, we’ve noticed that a lot of our students are coming to school and sharing anxieties and fears they have about this virus.  To help talk with kids and ease some of their anxieties, NPR has a comic and podcast for kids that explains what coronavirus is and how kids can prevent its spread and stay healthy. It’s very kid friendly and a helpful resource for parents and can help children feel empowered, instead of just fear.  Here’s the link in case you are interested:

Thanks for all you do to support and help our Edgemont children.  We love your children and are completely invested in helping each of them succeed at Edgemont!
