Dear Edgemont Families, Welcome to October! October has always been one of my favorite months because it always feels like Fall has come and this is definitely one of my favorite seasons,...
Dear Edgemont Families,
It was wonderful to see families coming in for their children’s SEP conferences last week. Thank you for making the time to come visit with teachers about your children’s progress in school. If you weren’t able to make it in for conferences, please contact your child’s teacher to set up a time to meet.
We had a terrific turn out for our first Edgemont Chick-Fil-A fundraiser! Thank you for coming to enjoy a fun night and supporting our school.
Our pick up and drop off has been going much more smoothly. The only area we are still seeing issues with is children being dropped off in the parking lot without a parent walking them to the building. Please drop off children only in the designated drop off lane and sidewalk. If you’d like to use the parking lot, be sure to park and walk your child to the school. Thank you for helping to keep our Edgemont kids safe!
As you have probably heard, our make up day for the snow day will take place on February 18. This was originally scheduled as a professional development day for teachers, but will now be a regular school day. Please see the district website for more information about this make up day.
During this Valentine’s month I want to share appreciation for how you connect with and love your children. Those connections and relationships are very important in a child’s life. We can connect with children through finding out more about their likes and dislikes, playing a game, talking together, showing interest in something they love, and just listening to them. I challenge everyone this month to put down your phones for at least 30 minutes each night and spend time listening, talking, and playing with your children. They will love it and you will enjoy getting to know your children even better.
