French Immersion and S.T.E.A.M. Classrooms
Students at Edgemont have the opportunity to learn in a French Immersion or STEAM classroom. This chart illustrates the two learning tracks we offer and what proficiencies and projects students will participate in for each grade level.

French
First Grade
- Speaks single words, multiple words, short phrases.
- Writes a modest number of words or phrases in context.
Second Grade
- Speaks creating with language in single sentences.
- Writes in sing sentences
Third Grade
- Speaks in intelligible sentences most of the time.
- Writes creating strings of sentences.
Fourth Grade
- Speaks maintaining simple conversations.
- Writes to create sentences of familiar topics.
Fifth Grade
- Speaks to satify basic social and academic neads.
- Writes mirroring oral language in present time.
Sixth Grade
- Speaks of personal topics using more complex sentences.
