Edgemont Elementary School

Thanks to a wonderful Edgemont community! We are genuinely grateful for the many parents who contribute to our school in so many ways!

The teacher dinner during SEP Conference Week was a huge success thanks to Jill Shakespeare for organizing and for all those who contributed food, set up, or cleaned up. The teachers so appreciated a nice dinner while they stayed late at the school that week.

Many thanks, too, to all who brought in box tops for our last competition. Mrs. Lowe’s class had the most box tops and will have a Pizza Pie Café dessert party sponsored by the Provo location.

Our “box top lady”, Emily Perl, wants to remind you to download the box top app – add Edgemont as the school you want to collect your earnings – then scan your receipts (within 14days). Box tops are phasing out of the physical box top and becoming more digital.

It is time to nominate a teacher at Edgemont who has positively influenced your child’s education and life. Each year we nominate one teacher from Edgemont to receive the Golden Apple Teacher Award who will be honored at a special dinner with other teachers throughout our school district. Please take a minute and answer the two-question survey at the link below. You may nominate only one teacher. The survey ends on Tuesday, February 18, at 11:45 p.m.       https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PJPX592

We have lots of events starting up in March. On March 6 before school we will have Parents & Pastries, so come for a donut and some milk, and bring a book if you’d like to read with your child!

Also on March 6 is Dr. Seuss Day, where a parent will come in to read a favorite Dr. Seuss book in their child’s classroom. If you’re interested in volunteering to read, look for a sign-up emailed out in a couple weeks. March will also be our month-long Read-a-Thon—so get ready for your child to dive into reading. Prizes will be given out each Friday as students turn in their bookmarks that keep track of their reading.

If you’re interested in helping or learning more about PTA events and important issues, please join us at our monthly PTA meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at 9am in room 121.

Thanks for your support,

Amy Teemant & Christina Broberg, Co-PTA Presidents
